LEXINGTON, Ky. – Approximately 80 members of the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, participated in the final leg of the 2010 Special Olympics Kentucky Law Enforcement Torch Run in the vicinity of Lexington.
At approximately 5 a.m. Friday, June 4, the Soldiers of the 716th boarded two charter buses to Frankfort, Ky.
“It’s always an honor to have the United States Military Police participate in the Torch Run, and I thank you for your continued service and support,” said Bob Mauney, director of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Torch Run, welcoming back the troops from Fort Campbell.
After a short run down Capital Avenue, the Soldiers headed to the Stuart Home School to run another leg of the Torch Run and spend time with the school’s special needs students. As the Soldiers of the 716th ran past the students, several greeted the Soldiers with high-fives and ran along the formation with them. More
